InnoFactory CEO Bongchun Yoo Discusses PLM Expertise and Document Centralization Strategy in NewsEconomy Interview

InnoFactory, Inc. CEO Bongchun Yoo shared the company’s business outlook and its strategy for the document centralization market, drawing on InnoFactory’s PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) expertise, in a CEO interview with NewsEconomy.

From a PLM Specialist to the Document Centralization Market

PLM is an automation system that manages a product’s entire lifecycle, from planning and design to manufacturing and disposal. Because it can efficiently handle complex manufacturing processes and vast design data, it has become essential infrastructure for large enterprises and mid-sized manufacturers alike.

InnoFactory has specialized in system implementation and consulting for large enterprises and public institutions, centered on PLM and industrial IoT. Led by an executive team of PTC veterans — PTC being one of the three major global PLM vendors alongside Germany’s Siemens and France’s Dassault Systèmes — InnoFactory has delivered solution design and implementation across numerous projects, supplying solutions to industries including nuclear power, aerospace, defense, manufacturing, retail, petrochemicals, and finance.

In the interview, CEO Yoo shared InnoFactory’s plan to focus more heavily on document centralization, even as a PLM specialist company. He explained that while PLM offers comprehensive digital management from design through production, its advanced feature set comes with a correspondingly high implementation cost — often 300 to 400 million KRW for small and mid-sized companies — which frequently discourages adoption due to budget constraints.

To address this, InnoFactory has spent the past two years developing and selling its own collaboration-centered document centralization solution, designed to preserve PLM’s strengths while lowering the cost barrier. He also noted that a next-generation version with added AI capabilities is set to launch soon.
